los angeles and beyond

I’m Mariah Pollock, a Los Angeles based wedding photographer serving clients throughout Southern California and beyond. My goal is to preserve the livelihood and genuine atmosphere of your big day. I take a photojournalist approach to my photography and believe it's imperative to show the true soul in my photos. No trends, no gimmicks, just you and your lover in the moment. Allowing me to capture the intentional moments as your day unfolds, will yield a result as timeless as your grandparents’ wedding photos- I guarantee it.

Everything is better on film.

I shoot on 35mm and medium format (120) film in addition to digital. Portraiture photography feels far more alive on film. My hybrid approach makes sure you get the best out of both photography mediums. Welcome to the land of grain, double exposures, and vibrance. You’ll notice each of my packages includes some type of film- because it’s that special.

“My fiance and I hired Mariah for our engagement photos after finding her work online and resonating with her effortless, non-cheesy, emotive photos. We also liked that Mariah shoots on both film and digital. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. From the get go, Mariah was professional, communicative, and easy to work with. Both before and on the day of the sheet, she was down to go with the flow and execute on our vision (and to recommend things to help fill in the many gaps--we have nowhere near the eye she does!). Engagement sessions can be awkward for couples not used to getting photographed (like us), but Mariah did such an excellent job of giving just-the-right amount of direction where we didn't have to come up with poses but it was still organic, and not at all imposing. We absolutely LOVED how our photos turned out. Mariah delivered SO many beautiful pictures, including a large number of film photographs that are timelessly beautiful.

She captured everything we wanted in a way that felt true-to-us; not too fussy or cheesy but still beautiful and romantic. Sadly, we're getting married on the East Coast--otherwise, we would've loved to have her at the wedding, too. I would highly recommend hiring Mariah for anything, You will not regret your choice!”

“We just sat and looked at all of them, we’re so extremely happy with them Mariah! You were an absolute dream to work with! Thank you so much for everything you have done for us and for making our day so stress-free & easy. I’m sad we only get married once because I want you to take all of our photos forever”
